It’s healthy, delicious and easy to make your own breakfast sausage (with no chemicals). Try it!
1 lb. ground pork
1 T. dried, rubbed sage
1/2 t. marjoram
1/8 t. kosher salt
1 t. pure maple syrup
pinch red pepper flakes, if desired
Place ground pork in food processor.
Sprinkle remaining ingredients over meat
Pulse until incorporated, about 12 times
With wet hands, form mixture into 8 patties, making fairly flat because they plump up
For maximum flavor, cover patties with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight
Heat skillet to medium heat
Add sausage and cook until done, about 3 minutes on each side
Drain on paper towel
These sausages can be frozen, pulled out when needed and reheated in the microwave.
