This turnover couldn’t be any easier — and you get a yummy reward!
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
flour, to dust
Filling
¼ cup (44 grams) cream cheese, room temperature
⅔ cup (186 grams) Nutella
Egg Wash
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese and Nutella on medium speed, set aside.
Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
Divide into 9 sort of rectangles.
Use a rolling pin to shape into equal squares.
Scoop 1 Tbsp. of Nutella filling onto the middle-corner of each puff pastry square, leaving enough space for the edges to be crimped shut.
Fold the square to form a triangle, crimp the edges shut, using a fork.
Set the turnovers on a lightly greased cookie pan.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cover pan lightly with plastic wrap and chill for 20-30 minutes.
Prepare the egg wash by beating together one egg and 1 Tbsp. water.
Brush the top of each turnover with the egg wash.
Bake for 17-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Allow to cool.
Garnish by dusting powdered sugar or drizzling with melted Nutella.
