I love these simple, low-cal baked apples. So easy in the air fryer.
APPLES:
2 medium large apples, I prefer Fuji, washed
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
TOPPING:
2 tablespoons butter slightly melted
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoons cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/2 c. oatmeal, rolled or quick
Cut apples in half vertically from stem to bottom
Use a melon baller to remove core to create a cavity for topping
Use a small paring knife to cut out stem end and trim bottom end
Sprinkle apples with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees for 5 minutes
Mix all topping ingredients together in a bowl
Divide into 4 parts and fill each apple cavity with 1/4 mixture
Line air fryer basket with air fryer parchment paper
Place each apple half in the corners to keep paper from folding over
Air fry for 15-20 minutes, until apples are as soft as you like them
I like to turn the air fryer off and leave mine in an extra 5 minutes to get really soft.
Serve with Reddi Whip or vanilla ice cream
